KOH MAK ACTIVITIES: SCUBA DIVING, SNORKELING, WATERSPORTS
Koh Mak is perfect for relaxing and soaking up the suns on one of the many beautiful, deserted, white sand beaches and swimming in the stunning clear blue water. Because the island is small and flat its perfect for exploring and getting close to nature on one of the jungle walks or for the more adventurous there is a 3 hour cycle track through plantations, jungle tracks, villages and along the coastline. Being on the edge of the Koh Rang natural park there are many beautiful places to snorkel and scuba dive. The best corals can be seen at Koh Kra and Koh Tong Lang. There are many deep sites at Koh Rang for scuba divers to explore, trips can be arranged at one of the islands dive shops.



Snorkeling
Kohmak is superb for its location neighboring by various poppular diving spots with easy reach. for example, Koh rung , koh yak , koh kra, koh tien and koh ma-pring. moreover, you can do kayaking and snorkeling to koh phee, koh kharm or koh rayang nok adjacent to kohmak.

one important and interesting activity that has been running over the years on koh mak is the coral planting project coopporated with Mahidol (International) university and locals. the aim for this activity is to enhance the beauty and to prolong the soul of marine life. we started the project around the island first and operate with an expectation to grow corals as many as we can in the future.

Things you should do when snorkeling :
wearing life jacketv all time. check all safety gear. life jacket should contain a whistle and have 2 lines stay between your legs. stay in group while swimming or find a buddy to assist each other. being on water surface and not get into a shallow area where you may ruin the coral. do not drink or eat in the sea and do not put your garbage in the sea. check up diving mask by trying it on. the mask should fit to your face, not too loose and not too fit.



Scuba Diving
The Gulf of Thailand is a great place to try diving , get certified or sample some of its great reefs on half or one day dive trips. If you have never dived before there are many options available. If you enjoy this and want to learn, you can choose to gain full certification by taking the Open Water Diver course. The operator will offer you a chioce of options for completing the course - different locations, boats and even islands. The course takes only four days and will give you an international PADI diving license with which you can go diving all over the world. For the certified diver, you will find the operators on Koh Mak offering a choice between trips to the National Marine Park, Koh Rang, Koh Yak, Koh Kra.



Fishing
Kohmak fisherfolks believed that the perfect time to do fishing is from dusk to dawn. they start their trip by leaving kohmak in the early evening and stop at the particular spot in order to catch some squid to be used as a prey. then, they move ahead to fish untill early morning when they come back to kohmak and serve it at your table. that is how we get seafood that fresh! you can easily join this by booking your next trip to kohmak!
